Jr. Firefighter Program

Fairview is pleased to announce we have started a Junior Firefighter Program for young men and women between the ages of 14-19 (up to the day they attain the age of 20) who have completed the eighth grade and who are earning a C average or better in their school courses.

To become a Junior Member complete and submit a Fairview Fire Department Volunteer Member application packet. The items required are as follows (the packet must be completed in its entirety before turning in):

  • A completed, signed Fairview Fire Department Volunteer Membership Application
  • A signed and notarized Parent/Guardian Consent/Emergency Contacts form (included in the Standard Operating Guidelines)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Permission from a high school principal to attend fire service training classes (Note, the school principal must grant permission for the applicant to attend North Carolina Community College system non-credit continuing education classes prior to attending fire service or EMS related classes by affixing his or her signature to the form at end of the Standard Operating Guidelines).
  • A most recent report card with a C average or higher
  • Copy of vaccination records
  • Upon completion of the application packet, turn it in in person or mail it to us at: Fairview Rural Fire Department, 4501 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539
